Pick up

60 degrees in the end of December?! Serious?! Anyway, today was a day for Starbucks, Motorcycle rides and talks about how rad the yarn in India will be.

I, unfortunately, had some work to do in the afternoon. One of my stops was to drop some cases to Spokes Bicycle Shop in Alexandria, VA (Check them out here) After my flat tire last week I was in the market for a new front tire/tube. My homie Chris at Spokes hooked it up with a free Bontrager Racelite tire and mounted it all up for me. I am pretty stoked to ride it, maybe tonight if I finish shooting early enough.

4:30am snack...

Seriously. I need to start eating at a normal time. I just hit the kitchen for a snack and this is what I had:

Half pound of deli sliced roast beef
a container of sauteed mushrooms
a lot of fresh cherries

on a side note, this can be put on anything to intensify the deliciousness:

My shin hurts

Went on a nice bicycle ride tonight. 6.3 miles to my friends house. Chilled there for a while, had some oyster shooters, watched Bill & Ted's excellent adventure, relaxed. Had such a great time. About half way home I noticed my bike was handling sorta weird so I stopped and it turns out my front tire was flat. I had to walk the remaining three miles home with my bicycle on my shoulder. It was definitely worth it though. Wyld Stallions!!

Grand High

So now that I am feeling better its about time to start getting some of this work done that I have been putting off. Today I shot this really rad deli called "Taylor Gourmet" everything about this deli is awesome, the food they make there is amazing, and they sell the best Italian sauces, pastas, olive oils etc. If you live in DC you should definitely go check them out! You can see my photos, get the address etc HERE.

I am shooting those twenty pairs of Grand High Custom Shoes in my home studio tonight, trying to get them out of here so I can make room for all the cool stuff I am going to buy myself for Christmas while I attempt to shop for others. You can see how much I've gotten done HERE

Yesterday it was 65 degrees here in Virginia. Insane! I dont have my ical open right now but im about 60% sure that its mid way through December right now and not May. (I could be wrong) It was a good day to be over my flu. I rode my motorcycle aimlessly for a little while, then waited for my friends to get off work, then we all rode Bicycles all night, it was fantastic! I put new bars/grips on my bicycle too, it was great. I will take some photos here in a little bit when I get all of these shoes out of the way. Well back to work for me.

still semi sick and reading

Another day goes by and I am still sick. Feeling better, but definitely not 100%. I managed to read an entire book today. It us called "Under and Alone" by William Queen. It was really good, once I read the first page I was unable to put it down until I finished it. You can check it out here, is in on the New York Times Best Seller List, so I must not be the only one who things its a great book.

I found this today. It makes me sad kinda, because good ol' fashion slow motion bicycle fights don't happen like they used to:

Sick.

So somehow I managed to get some sort of stomach flu or something. Wack. Anyway, I have been spending most of my time in my bed but there were a few things that required me to move, mainly, the release of the new collaboration between The Hundreds and Disney. Apparently, only 100 shirts in each design were released worldwide, luckily Palace 5ive was one of the four stores that received them. I'm not positive I want to take it out of the sealed bag so here is a stock photo, I got the one on the left:

This morning when I woke up there was a box on my front steps, addressed to me, from New York. I couldn't remember ordering anything but as soon as I picked it up I knew what it was!

Fader Magazine!!! This story starts out with me shooting the cover of a mixtape for them last summer, it was a lot of fun and I got to meet some really rad people. Fader is one of those companies that you really look forward to working with, ever since that shoot they have taken care of me so well. Right off the bat they gave me a lifetime subscription to the magazine and the mixtape, so every month I have those coming to my house. Its great! Also, when I was in NYC for the Red Bull Experiment in July they invited me over to their office to show me around and hang out. There was so much cool stuff in the office, including Guinness on tap and a huge poster of biggie that was signed by B.I.G. himself. Anyway, im getting off track here. Inside the box was a New Era Fitted Hat, designed by High Places (who you should check out here)this hat is the third in a series of limited edition hats that Fader commissions rad bands to make. I am too lazy to take a photo of the hat so you get another stock photo:

thats why I wrote this song to sing my beautiful girl...

I wish I could do better by you,
Cause its what you deserve.
You sacrifice so much of your life,
In order for this to work.

While I'm off chasing my own dreams,
Sailing around the world,
Please know that I'm yours to keep,
My beautiful girl.

I got my tickets to see Dallas Green, aka City and Colour at the black cat in DC. I am pretty excited. If you have any question as to who Dallas Green is, or how amazing his music is... please just do a search on youtube, I will even do it for you here.

Hmmm...

Today I picked up twenty pairs of custom shoes from my homies over at Grand High Customs. I will be taking photos of all of them for their upcoming website launch. Grand High and I go wayyyyyy back as far as my photography career goes. They were one of the first companies that believed in me many years ago that helped me get my career off the ground, and I am eternally grateful. They recently designed a pair of custom shoes that was picked up by Kswiss and produced. You can see those shoes here

This is what I have sitting in my room, more to come later:

Anyone read the paper today?

Just a bunch of garbage:

Born Ruffians - Barnacle Goose

Why can't you tell me what I wanna hear
To help me get some rest
Oh my darling dear?

So I have decided that I want a Honda Ruckus. There are so many reasons, but the main one is that they are fucking rad. You can buy all sorts of parts from them all over the internet, mainly at: www.PasswordJDM.com a store I have been buying stuff from for so many years now. I might need to get rid of some of my current toys to get one, but I think it'd be worth it. Here are two of my favorite ones, photos were found on www.Honda-Tech.com

Art Whino has some sick exhibits now.

Peep it.

Couldnt pass these up...

They aren't my size, and I dont really mess with Abingtons but the price was right. Thanks goes out to Nick at Palace5 on 14th Street NW.

As promised earlier. Here is what was in that big fancy box on my porch this afternoon. My new Mercier Kilo TT pro. I havent had much of a chance to ride it because I was working on my car, but I took it around the block and its a lot more comfortable than my Fuji. Thanks to my homie Cristian for taking the sick photo while I was drinking a Red Bull and doing nothing. Word!!

I cannot stop

Watching this:

My dream house...

If this house had a piano in that huge window it would be my ultimate dream house. I'd still take it like this though. Could you imagine looking out of the window, playing all day and night? I can.

If you want to see more of this super rad house you could click here.

Bored & Painting

So a lot of time when I am bored I paint. I have about fifty things around my house and room that I have painted. Most of the time I paint on things other than canvas. The only canvas I actually have hanging up in my room is about five feet by two feet and its just painted solid gray. I dunno, it has never really excited me to paint on normal things. I have a strange obsession with argyle, mostly with painting it on things and having clothing covered in it. Oh well. Painted these:

Today

Hanks Oysters in Old Town Alexandria. Making moves:

Delicious. I would eat oysters everyday if I could. I guess I could now that I think about it.

After oysters we went to National Harbor so I could see "The Awakening" a favorite sculpture of mine that I never get tired of:

First Post

So after seeing some other peoples blogs which are infinitely better than mine I decided to start over from scratch.

In my old blog I posted some photos from new shoots I have done, and after I whopping 62 views over two years I have come to the realization that maybe that isn't cool enough for blogging. I guess instead I will just blog about the things that I do and see on the regular basis. I will try not to post about things I do day in and day out, such as getting a white mocha from Starbucks, but hey... no promises.
